New York State Assembly District 38

about david

I'm an immigrant workers’ rights attorney, union organizer, and democratic socialist running for Assembly in AD38 – Ridgewood, Glendale, Woodhaven, Richmond Hill, and Ozone Park.

Our district is facing serious challenges, like rising rents, unaffordable healthcare and childcare, wage theft, and the terrifying threat of ICE raids. Too many of us are working honest jobs yet struggling to support ourselves and our families. I’m sick of watching our status quo politicians fail to stand up for everyday New Yorkers. I’ve dedicated my life to defending workers and immigrants; now I’m ready to bring this fight to Albany.

Mayor Mamdani brought us together with his plan for a city we can all afford and he needs our help to make it happen. As a union organizer, I know how powerful we are when we fight with and for each other. Let’s build the city we deserve!

our priorities

  • Tax The Rich

We need to pass a strong Tax the Rich package. Our district is starved of the public resources we need for childcare, housing, transit, and healthcare, while the ultra-rich and corporations continue to accumulate the enormous wealth they use to wield outsized political influence.

  • Protect our Immigrant Neighbors

We need to protect our immigrant neighbors from ICE. I’ve seen firsthand how immigration enforcement destroys families and tears our community apart. Working with immigrant justice movements, we must expand local sanctuary protections and challenge federal practices that target our neighbors.

  • Support Low-Income Workers

We need to strengthen labor protections for low-income workers. Many of the most exploited workers in our district can’t access basic rights and safety on the job. I’ll continue my fight to ensure all workers can organize, win fair wages, and hold employers accountable.
